Project Proposal
Modernization of cafeteria and library spaces to create a combined Nutrition and Learning Commons that aligns with 21st century learning.
Project Information
Chase opened in 1994 to serve grade 7-8 middle school students in southeast Spokane. Sixth grade students were added in 2023, highlighting issues with certain aspects of the school’s layout. This proposal would reconfigure the separated cafeteria and library spaces into a combined Nutrition and Learning Commons. The interior hallway and student spaces would also receive a fresh set of finishes to bring energy back to the building. These and other interior upgrades are intended to bring the school into alignment with the 21st century learning models found at other middle schools across the district.
