Merkel Sports Complex Expansion
Develop more fields at the site of former Joe Albi Stadium to double Merkel capacity and support increased student and community interest in recreational activities.
Project Proposal
In this proposal, United States Tennis Association Pacific Northwest (USTA PNW) would provide the capital to build and operate an indoor tennis facility at the site of Shadle Park High School’s existing outdoor tennis courts. Shadle Park and other SPS students would have access to the facility year-round in agreement with USTA PNW, which would program access for the wider tennis community.

Renovate the indoor aquatics facility at Spokane Community College to expand Parks aquatics programming and develop a swimming lesson program for elementary students.
Citywide All-Weather Fields with Lights
Provide at least one all-weather rectangular field and at least one turf infield with lighting within each neighborhood high school boundary.
