Over the course of several bond projects from 1999 to present, Spokane City Parks has effectively focused investment into targeted ‘special use facilities’ & amenities. As these large ‘one-time’ investments have occurred, the Parks Division has not been able to dedicate ongoing funds for the regular capital repair required to property maintain various park assets (roofs, walkways, lighting systems, parking lots, sewer lines, sport courts, picnic areas, etc.). Regular minor repair and replacement of these park assets throughout the city have therefore been consistently deferred for several decades. The park levy will provide regular funding dedicated specifically to the minor repairs, replacement, and upkeep of these park components.

Key Improvements:

• Enhanced annual repair & improvement of damaged park infrastructure citywide including walkways, roofs, utilities, parking, and lighting, etc.
