Southeast Land Acquisition

In the Lincoln Heights and East Central neighborhoods, residents west of Ray St. enjoy close access to developed parks. However, more than 2,600 neighborhood households east of Freya & Ray St. lacks walkable access to a park, and the 2022 Park and Natural Lands Master Plan identified acquiring land in this area as a priority need.

The planned project will include land acquisition only, for a future park. Target land acquisition is approximately 1-2 acres and may be either undeveloped or developed. Land acquired should be east of Freya St. between Hartson and 21st Street, with walkable access to as many homes as possible. Land acquired will be held until future park development funding is secured.
