Establishing a new full-time trades high school serving grades 9-12 would allow SPS to offer students an opportunity to graduate with their high school diploma and a Direct Transfer Agreement Associate Degree (AA-DTA), an Associate in Applied Science-Transfer Degree (AAS-T), and numerous other career and technical education (CTE) certificates that will prepare them to immediately enter the workforce upon graduation and/or continue their educational studies to successfully achieve their career goals.
In this proposed project, SPS would identify a location for this facility and potential partners to provide a program to enhance the integration of career connect learning with local business and industry and fulfill student interest in a CTE-focused educational experience.
Explore additional opportunities with public agencies and organizations to identify strategies for collaboration to create efficiencies that benefit the community.
Renovate oldest portions of the building to address issues of efficiency and safety.
Renovate the indoor aquatics facility at Spokane Community College to expand Parks aquatics programming and develop a swimming lesson program for elementary students.
